It’s time to deck the halls and drink in the cheer this festive season and Team 4 is happy to announce that we’re taking part in Holy Cross Church’s Festival of Trees in Uckfield again this year. We had so much fun last year decorating our tree and admiring everyone else’s that we couldn’t wait to start tree trimming this year!
Last year over 5 thousand people visited the event, and with this year being the 8th year this event has been running, it’s sure to be the best year yet! Not only do businesses get involved but also schools and the community college too, all using traditional methods to create wonderful and innovative trees. During the event there will be live music and entertainment making this a wonderful family friendly event, perfect for drinking in the Christmas Spirit.
The event raises money for the church, and last year they were able to raise approximately £7,000! For more information, including when the festival is on and photos from previous years or have a look at the Holy Cross’s website.
What is it like there?
You may not believe this, but it is fairly quiet on the decorating day. We go first thing in the morning as it does take a while to get the tree complete. During the festival the lights are lowered and the church becomes a beautiful twinkling scene.
What it feels like to be involved in the event?
It’s welcome to do something that reminds us how much we are apart of the local community, not only promoting local business but also local charities and schools too. The event runs from Friday to Sunday and really starts Christmas for the whole town.
How did Team 4 get involved with this event?
We have been fortunate to be involved with the festival in past years. Most of our team are residents of Uckfield so have visited the festival for many years and as Team 4 are based in the town we knew it would be fun to join in and good to support the event. Last year the church were lucky enough to have BBC local news cover the event. You can find their report here.
What inspires us when we create/design the Team4 tree and what have we done for this year’s tree?
When decorating previous trees we have always used the company’s colour scheme along with logos and lots of telephone numbers, free advertising! This year we will go along the same lines but with more emphasis on pinks and number 4’s.
Our managing director, Claire, loves the event: “We will be involved with the Holy Cross Christmas Tree event for the second year running (see our Facebook page for more info)! It’s a really spectacular event and a brilliant thing to be involved in. We’d really like our tree to be something amazing this year, we were the only tree with pink lights last year so would be good to expand on the theme and make it as pink and glittery as we can this year!”
